Upgrade

As you have seen on the video (…which took some time to record..haha), roomsDB.net is upgrading! The site grew like crazy over the last few months. roomsDB.net had 20 times more traffic in the beginning of July than it had in beginning of April and this development doesn’t seem to stop! One of the reasons for this huge success for sure was the blog marketing campaign that I had advertlets.com run for me.

As a precaution, I had to invest in roomsDB.net and upgrade to a dedicated server! Yes, roomsDB.net now has it’s own Internet server that does nothing else than help you to rent or rent out a room in Singapore!

Isn’t that damn expensive, you might ask. And I might answer you: yes, it is! Fortunately, some of you did click on the Google text advertisements on the site, so now the money that I make with those Google ads is directly reinvested into the site to pay the dedicated server. I hope you aprreciate that and support the site! Tell everybody you know about it, write in your blog about it, you could even tell your mom.

So here are the specs of the dedicated roomsDB.net server:

CPU Specs: 2 * 1800 Mhz
RAM: 2048 MB
HD: 2* 250 GB
Traffic: unlimited
Internet Connection: 100MBit

Yeah, that should do the trick for handling all that traffic! What I am doing these days is migrating all the data and adjusting all the .php scripts since the new server runs a new version and is not 100% compatible. I hope roomsDB.net is online on wednesday again, but that should work!
